Sedula

Meet our next vendor, Sedula.

Hi!I am Lili, the owner of Sedula, the small, but very green local company. I grew up in the tiny country of Lituania, rich in history, handcrafting traditions, and natural beauty. For as long as I remember, crafting was always part of my life. I create unique, handmade, eco-friendly toys, accessories for home, self and garden. My mission is to use upcycled supplies as much as possible, and to minimize my environmental footprint. Due to the nature of my craft I'm always working on something new and exiting. It's never boring and always Green!

Here are a few pictures of her latest product:

1000 Shillings

We're proud to announce that 1000 Shillings will be bringing their beautiful jewelry to our boutique.
The women behind 1000 Shillings spent last summer serving the people of Uganda.  While working with Ugandan women on creating paper-bead jewelry, they realized that they could create an international market place and a platform to share their stories and their work.  They are working with 6 women in Uganda, each of whom creates a specific style of necklace that is named after them.
Their company name, 1000 Shillings, is based on the amount of money that the average person in the Namatala slum, in Uganda, lives on per day, approximately 1,000 Ugandan Shillings ($.40).

Buying a necklace from 1000 Shillings will not only add a beautiful accessory to your collection, (or your mother's collection, remember Mother's Day is just around the corner!), it will also help Elizabeth, Martha, Veronica, Annette, Esther, and Aidah and their families.  Click here to read more about this company and the women who make the necklaces.
